World Auction Record set by Tommy Watson
On Wednesday 23rd May 2007 at the Lawson-Menzies Aboriginal Art auction in Sydney, a new sale record was set.
Yannima Tommy Watson’s magnificent painting Waltitjatta was estimated to sell for $80,000 - $100,000, but sold
for a record hammer price of $200,000.
The sale established Tommy Watson as the world's most successful indigenous living artist at auction. Tommy's works
